Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What do the DROPweight 3+One Food Packs consist of?

The four week DROPweight 3+One Program consists of a combination of 84 DROPweight Shakes, Soups and Bars (3 per day) together with DROPweight Multivitamins and your +One meal. This will provide, on average, 850 calories a day and at least 100% of the recommended daily allowances (RDA) for vitamins and minerals, as well as protein, fats and a small amount of suitable carbohydrates. The DROPweight Programme gets you quickly into a safe, fat burning mode. You will see the results and so will your friends, family and colleagues.

2. What can I eat for my +ONE meal?

You should look to eat a low carb meal around 500 calories.

3. When can I eat my DROPweight 3+1 meal?

You can choose to have your +1 meal at any time of the day that fits into your lifestyle.

For most people this is usually in the evening, but if you are a particular fan of a protein rich cooked breakfast at the weekend or eat steak and salad in a restaurant at lunch times with business you could simply adjust your DROPweight 3+1 program, for example, if you eat your meal at breakfast, follow this with a bar for lunch, a shake mid-afternoon and a soup in the evening.

4. What support can I expect as a client?

In the My Account section of the website you will find useful information, tools and our forum where you can chat to others on the DROPweight programme.

5. Does the daily recommended 2.5 litres of water include tea, coffee and the water used to make the soups and shakes?

We recommend the 2.5 litres of water should be taken throughout the whole day and does include any tea or coffee that you drink.  However it does not include the water used to make up the soups and shakes.

6. Can I drink diet fizzy drinks?

On the DROPweight programme we require you to drink 2.5 litres of water per day.
Diet fizzy drinks can cause bloatedness, deydration and water retention - so we recommend you just stick to water.

If you want variety you can use our specially formulated water flavourings to add flavour if required.

7. Can I add milk to my tea or coffee?

Yes you can.  We require you to have half a pint of skimmed milk a day on the DROPweight programme.

8. Must I have the dairy choice each day?

Yes, your dairy choice can be eaten as part of your +ONE meal, with a foodpack, as a snack or with tea or coffee.  This is part of the DROPweight programme and is an essential part of your protein and calorie intake for each day.

9. Is the DROPweight 3+1 Plan suitable for a vegetarian?

Apart from the Chicken Soup all the DROPweight shakes, soups and bars available online as part of the 3+1 Program are vegetarian.

A full ingredients and nutritional information listing can be found here.

Please note: The DROPweight Weight Management products available in ASDA are NOT vegetarian as they do contain some animal products.

10. Is the DROPweight Program suitable for those with Type 1 Diabetes?

Many very low calorie diets are unsuitable for people with Type 1 Diabetes unless they take place in a hospital or medically supervised setting where specialised medical monitoring is available. The DROPweight 3+1 Programme is unsuitable if you have Type 1 Diabetes for this reason.

11. Is the DROPweight Program suitable for those with Type 2 Diabetes?

In a lot of cases Type 2 Diabetes can be managed by diet, exercise and tablets. In some cases control requires insulin injections.

If you have Type 2 Diabetes the DROPweight Program may be a suitable weight loss plan for you, but before you start you should consult your GP.

If your Type 2 Diabetes is being managed with medication your GP will need to monitor your progress, your Diabetes and your medication regularly. It has been found that up to 80% of people can have their medication reduced or stopped by losing weight and because you’re likely to lose weight rapidly on DROPweight, it may be possible to reduce your diabetes medication, under medical supervision very quickly.

If you are managing your Type 2 Diabetes by controlling your own diet then the DROPweight Program will serve as a positive step in losing any excess weight that may have contributed to the onset of your Type 2 Diabetes.

12. How does the DROPweight 3+1 Program compare with other diet shakes, soups and bars?

The DROPweight 3+1 Plan incorporates.

  • Three very low calorie diet products; shakes soups and bars, per day.
  • One high protein, low carbohydrate meal per day.
  • A super strength multi-vitamin each day to ensure that you obtain all the vitamins and minerals your body needs during the rapid weight loss stage of your diet.
  • Full access to online tools, diary and forum to offer you support on your weight loss journey.

It does NOT involve:

  • Total abstinence.
  • Weekly meetings.

13. Is the DROPWeight Programme expensive?

Compared to similar programmes its better valre and there’s no cost to join either. Just choose to order every 4 weeks or set up simple monthly payments which cover all the DROPweight Food Packs and online support you will need. If you add up how much you spend now every 4 weeks on food, wine, beer, snacks, lunches, takeaways and eating out, you’ll probably find you’ll be making a saving. Plus with the 3+One plan, you only have to buy and prepare one meal a day. The thinking involved in the other 3 meals is done for you!

14. Is the DROPweight programme safe?

Yes. Hospital-based obesity centres throughout Europe use VLCDs. There are over 30 years of research and lots of evidence to support their use in programme such DROPweight provides. Innumerable scientific studies prove both their efficiency in helping people lose weight safely, including detailed examinations by the Committee on Medical Aspects of Health and Nutrition (COMA) in the UK and by the European Union.

15. I am on medication, is DROPweight safe for me?

DROPweight products are high protein, low carbohydrate shakes, bars and soups; the main component of which is whey protein.

We advise that you consult with your GP before undertaking the DROPweight program or any weight loss diet.

16. If I lose weight quickly, won’t I put it all back on again?

How you lose weight has nothing to do with whether or not you regain it. As with any diet, if you go back to your old habits you will regain the weight. The DROPweight programme is only the first step in a longer, lifetime change. It’s vital that when you come off DROPweight Shakes, Soups and Bars you carefully manage what you eat and follow the expert advice that this website provides on weight maintenance. Many people find that the structure the DROPweight diet gives you really helps you to keep the weight off once you finish the programme as you have a more disciplined mindset to eating.

18. How often should I enter my statistical data into my diary?

There is no limit to entering data into your diary, but DROPweight recommends you enter your information once a week and stay consistent with the days that you enter data. If you enter data frequently your graphs will provide a richer feedback on your progress with the DROPweight programme.

19. Are the DROPweight products available in ASDA the same as those online?

The DROPweight Meal Replacement products available in ASDA are approximately 200 kCal per serving. As part of the 5-a-day plan they constitute two meals. With the additional of two healthy snacks and one high protein, low carbohydrate meal your total daily calorie count will be between 1,400 kCal and 1,500 kCal.

Woman require around 2,000 kCal a day to operate normally, for men this is 2,500 kCal, therefore your body will be in deficit by about 500 kCal each day and will go to your fat store to find the energy it needs. The DROPweight 5-a-Day Plan, currently available exclusively in ASDA, if adhered to, should give you a weight loss of between six and seven pounds per month.

The DROPweight 3+1 Program is available exclusively on this website. It is a rapid weight loss programme where you consume around 850 kCal a day; consequently your weight loss can be expected to be more significant and quicker.

Keeping hydrated with around two and a half litres of water during the day is extremely important to the success of any diet and we encourage you to try and drink this amount during the day.

20. What can I eat on the DROPweight 5 a day Plan?

On the DROPweight 5 a day plan you should include;

  • Two DROPweight meal replacement products currently available exclusively at ASDA.
  • One portion of fruit each day - a portion should be one piece of fruit like a banana, a pear or an apple; alternatively a portion is a handful of smaller fruit like grapes and berries, or a slice of larger fruits such as melon or pineapple.
  • One portion of dried fruit and nut mix each day - a portion should fit in the cupped palm of your hand.
  • One high protein, low carbohydrate meal each day.
  • At least two and a half litres of water.
  • 250ml of semi-skimmed milk.

You can plan to have these 5 meals and snacks at any time throughout the day to suit your lifestyle.

21. How much water do I add to a DROPweight Meal Replacement shake bought in ASDA?

The mixing instructions state that you mix 2 scoops of powder with 150 ml of water, however adding more or less water is a personal preference and will not affect the nutritional value of the product. Most people will find a quantity of between 150 ml and 250 ml gives the right balance between quantity and consistency.
We also recommend you use a hand blender or electric whisk to mix the powder with water as this makes a much better shake.

22. Can I make up DROPweight shakes in advance?

No we do not advise that you make up DROPweight shakes in advance. There are a couple of reasons for this;

  • The whey protein will settle out and will not remix.
  • No preservatives are added to the DROPweight products, so once wet should be drunk immediately.

We would recommend you separately carry a bottle of water with a water tight lid and a small pot containing the shake mix. Then add the powder to the water just before consumption.
